Peggy Rhamy
After graduating from Col-Hi, I was accepted at Hillcrest Medical Center School of Nursing in Tulsa. I completed the program in '63, passed state boards and have worked as a Registered Nurse since that time. The time I spent working in the operating room setting was the most enjoyable.

Max Richardson (Class of '57) and I were married in '71 and will soon celebrate our 39th anniversary. Max is an Electrical Engineer and worked with the military. We traveled with his work and

lived outside the U.S., in Guam and Spain which gave us opportunities to travel. We returned to Bartlesville to raise our family while Max worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. and I worked at Jane Phillips. Our 2 children were born in Guam - Max "Lee", Jr. is 36 and Melissa Lynn is 34. Both are married and we have one granddaughter, Juliette, who will be 2 in August and are expecting another granddaughter in October of this year. (2010)

Some memorable times in my life include: Giving the first oral polio vaccine to school children in Tulsa while in nursing school, working 3 months at a state mental hospital in St. Louis and living in Memphis when Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, experiencing 2 cultures - being in Guam when Viet Nam fell, riding the bullet train in Japan, seeing Mt. Fuji, seeing the King of Spain, Juan Carlos, where we lived, visiting the Rock of Gibraltar and the Kasbah in Tangiers, Morocco and visiiting my daughter in Paris, Amsterdam, London (she lived across the street from the Beetles recording studio) and Dublin. We had great teachers at Col-Hi. Some of my favorites were Mr. Den Adel (Chemistry), Mr. Newman (Biology), Mrs. Ellsworth (Latin), and Miss Newkirk (Spanish). The coaches who taught history, Mr. Stidham and "Father" Bailey Ricketts, instilled in me the love of history. The person I would more like to see at the reunion is Carol Benway. We were close friends back then but have lost touch over the years.
